These hard-working students’ lives have been impacted by suicide and/or mental illness, have excelled academically, were involved in community service and are continuing their education in a field aiding mental health.
A short essay is required describing how their personal lives have been impacted by suicide and/or mental illness -- the application essays continue to amaze me as every year there are applicants describing how the John Santos Memorial Scholarship essay has opened up the conversations about mental health struggles and suicides for the first time within their families.
These dedicated students: *Kiriam Merchant, *Emily Osborne, *Maria Ippolito *Grace Pschom, *Carissa Dienes, *Sophi Rencher and *Molly Magee are continuing their education at Montclair, Rowan, Rutgers, Long Island Universities and at the University of South Carolina. They are pursuing degrees in various fields, which include psychiatry, psychology, health science, and criminal justice.
We wish these students all the very best as they continue to reach for the stars!!!!!!!
